Weddings: Licensed for weddings. You can choose how you use the site.. very few ‘house rules’ – – room for a marquee and/or use the dining room (for 100), good parking arrangements, lovely gardens and such nice people to help you (when you want it). No corkage either.

Broom Court

Sandon Hall

What: Superb stately home in huge open parkland.. lawns, space, follies, flowers.

Weddings: You can get married in any of three rooms within the house (or in the isolated, Romantic medieval church, 500 yards away). Those couples then wishing to hold their reception in a marquee (on the superb lawns) are free to choose their own independent caterers. NB: this is not currently mentioned on the Sandon Hall website, so do ask when enquiring.

Smallwood Manor

Ingestre Hall

ingestre hall stafforshireWhere: In the depths of the rolling Staffordshire countryside, hidden away down a dead-end and miles from civilisation and just beyond the village of Ingestre. The House is next door to the village church which is one of the few built by Wren outside London and where many couples get married.

What: Huge stately home, now an arts college with lots of grand rooms and 27 acres of sweeping grounds (which are also yours for the day).

Weddings: Licensed for weddings and plenty of room for receptions with good kitchens that Kemp and Kemp Catering can use. Our friend got married there recently and it was GREAT, so we’ve experienced the site from both perspectives.

ALSO, stroll down the empty road to Ingestre Stables and stay the night after your wedding in THE MOST amazing accommodation ever.. Erasmus Darwin House, Lichfield

What: A superb Georgian town house and museum. Its the Lichfield home of Erasmus Darwin, esteemed physician, poet, botanist and amongst other things, Charles Darwin’s grandfather. The house is set in a wonderful position with views across to Lichfield Cathedral and is surrounded by an 18th Century herb garden.

Oakley Hall

What: Westwood College has great facilities, set within a grade 2 listed building and two acres of Victorian parkland.  It has views of the Staffordshire Moorlands.

What: Stately home with lakes, grounds, an aboretum – everything you could wish for.

Weddings: You can hire the entire complex and get married there (three rooms are licenced), have your reception in the amazing turquoise ballroom – even stay the night. Halston Hall

halston hall shropshireWhere: In the rich agricultural land between Oswestry and Whitchurch (Shropshire).

What: A magnificent Grade 1 listed country house in farmed parkland. Behind the house is a huge lawn leading to a two long winding lakes. Across the lakes is a half-timbered medieval chapel in total isolation. What a place to site your marquee! There is also room in the house for smaller functions.
